FYI - Why Study Music?
There are many benefits of music education!
Music makes you smarter! Better grades in school! Recent research suggests exposure to music may benefit a child reading age, IQ and development of spatial reasoning. Piano instruction specifically enhances children’s abstract reasoning skills necessary for math and science.
Develops self-discipline, good study habits and organizational skills. Learning to play an instrument takes patience, practice and the learned ability to prioritize busy lifestyles to fit in the many things kids want to accomplish these days.
It’s Fun! Sure, practicing sometimes feels like a lot of hard work, but there is no denying playing an instrument is tremendous fun!
Sense of achievement. Once a student has mastered playing a piece of music, the satisfaction felt is priceless!
Relieves stress. Music is one of life’s simple joys. Ever notice that when you hear soft, soothing music you feel more relaxed? Playing an instrument can enrich your life and become a best friend forever.

"Teachers at ECM make learning music fun and exciting. My son wanted to quit taking piano lessons at another school yet ever since he came to ECM, he enjoys practicing and playing his pieces. This school has a perfect combination of professionalism and friendly individual based sessions. I am so grateful to Arlene Watson for giving back to my son the love of music and confidence he well deserves."
